Bye July, Hello August!

I can’t believe July has gone so quickly. I didn’t even realise it was August until this morning. Anyway the song up there is really what most of my reading this month was: feel good reads. Well except for Fairest… And also I got a bit obsessed with Colbie Calliat…

Adorkable by Sarah Manning – which I didn’t review but really liked

Fairest by Melissa Meyer – it was obviously AMAZING

August To Reads

Really excited for August (especially for UNTIL FRIDAY NIGHT OMG SO EXCITED!!). Hopefully I’ll post some things that aren’t reviews this month XD How was your July? Tell me all about it!

TLDR Sundays #2

Premiere: Ingrid Michaelson Helps Fans Face Their Fears In "Afterlife" Video

TLDR Sundays is where I recap my week on all bookish and non bookish things!

This week was kinda uneventful on the reading front as you guys will soon realise. My official excuse it that I got sick this week but I was just really lazy to be honest 😀

Finished Reading

A Million Miles Away

I made my first ever book playlist for this book. Check it out here!

Currently Reading

A Summer Like No OtherThe Sister Pact

A Summer Like No Other by Elodie Nowodazkij – over 50% finished, it’s kinda getting slow but I will finish it!

The Sister Pact by Stacie Ramey – almost 50% finished, I’m finding it tough to get into but I’m liking it in a weird way

Pending To Reads

Torn Sky (Rebel Wing, #3)

Torn Sky by Tracy Banghart – The publisher was kind enough to provide me an ARC through Netgalley. I love this series so I’m definitely reading the finale!

Song of the Week

Afterlife – Ingrid Michaelson: The music video is amazing, featuring people conquering their fears. It’s just really heartwarming just like the song’s vibe it. Definitely check it out.

So how has your week been? Tell me all about it!

Book Playlists: A Million Miles Away by Lara Avery

My idea for this came from Angie over at Love Thy Shelf who did this amazing playlist for all these different books. I’ve really wanted to try making a playlist but I don’t normally connect books with music. But after I read A Million Miles Away, I found these songs that I felt went amazingly with the story. Warning: Most of these songs are depressing.

Laughing With – Regina Spektor

No one laughs at God in a war….

No one laughs at God
When the cops knock on their door
And they say we got some bad news, sir

Right after I finished this book, I played my Spotify radio and this song came up. All I could think was how perfectly it fit the whole book.

Fresh Pair of Eyes – Brooke Waggoner

‘Cause I want to be seen
With a fresh pair of eyes
The single white tree
In a black hood of disguise

This song really made me think about Kelsey pretending to be her twin, and then ending up falling in love with her twin’s boyfriend. I mean the lyrics themselves are explanatory enough.

The Scientist – Coldplay

Tell me your secrets
And ask me your questions
Oh, let’s go back to the start

Kelsey does a lot of getting to know her sister after her sister’s death and this song is really just that.

Dear Darlin’ – Olly Murs

Dear darlin’, please excuse my writing.
I can’t stop my hands from shaking
‘Cause I’m cold and alone tonight.

This song’s here because I need a letter themed song but also it’s pretty much what Peter is feeling.

Nothing Left to Lose – Kari Kimmel

I’ve got all the time in the world
and every night to think of you
and empty seems like to last forever
but I guess I’ve got nothing left to lose

Kelsey and Michelle definitely weren’t close before Michelle’s death, but what I love about the book was the journey of getting to know someone after they aren’t there and discovering the things they liked… really I just love the sistery bond.

So anyway, here’s my first ever book playlist! I really enjoyed this book and will post a review up soon. Have you guys read it? What do you think of my song picks? Tell me all about it!

love prima

Top Ten Books On My TBR For Winter 2015

top ten tuesdays blue

Might’ve changed that topic slightly… can you spot it 😉

Anyways, here’s my top ten TBRs for this winter. It’s a bit of mix between books coming out this winter and just some I really should get around to reading:

1. Storm by Amanda Sun

Storm (Paper Gods, #3)

But… but… THE COVER WON’T MATCH! Well, if it’s good I can excuse that!
Release Date: 30th June 2015

2. Most Likely to Succeed by Jennifer Echols

Most Likely to Succeed (Superlatives, #3)

YES!
Release Date: 4th August 2015

3. The Nightmare Charade by Mindy Arnett

The Nightmare Charade (The Arkwell Academy, #3)

I have a lot of series on the list and The Arkwell Academy series is just one of them. I love the covers!
Release Date: 4th August 2015

4. Daisy and the Front Man by Rebekah L. Purdy

Daisy and the Front Man (Backstage Pass #3)

I swear this series is like my drugs… all the books are so addictive and you always need another one. Also, IT’S OUT TODAY or I guess tomorrow because I’m in Australia but still IT’S OUT TODAY!

5. The Ugly Stepsister by Aya Ling

The Ugly Stepsister

I WAS SO EXCITED FOR THIS! I literally just bought it off the iBookstore because I just remembered it came out today.

6.. Boy Most Likely To by Huntley Fitzpatrick

The Boy Most Likely To

I just need another My Life Next Door vibe and hopefully this one will have it.
Release Date: 18th August 2015

7. A Million Miles Away by Lara Avery

A Million Miles Away

I have a thing for colour text on black and white photos, they’re just so aesthetically pleasing. I kinda got the blurb mixed up with The Things We Know By Heart and spent the first few pages of that one really confused. But I am really excited for this one!
Release Date: 7th July 2015

8. Collide by Melissa West

Collide (The Taking, #3)

It’s the finale of The Taking series and really enjoyed the first two so…. it’s gonna be awesome!

9. Torn Sky by Tracy Banghart

Torn Sky (Rebel Wing, #3)

I absolutely love this series. It’s freaking amazing and just… well just check out my reviews for the last two I guess!
Release Date: 4th August 2015

10. The Summer of Chasing Mermaids by Sarah Ockler

The Summer of Chasing Mermaids

Not so winter themed but the cover is gorgeous and I’m just so cold, I need some warmth in my life.

What’s your top ten?
