TTT: Nice to meet you, where you been?

top ten tuesdays blue

So I was going to post a tag before today but I might’ve forgot… it’ll definitely be up before Friday though 😀 This week’s TTT is about the best authors you read for the first time in 2015. Honestly, I didn’t read that many new authors this year but here’s the ones I did: ( Click on their photos to check out their sites)

1. Jenny Han

I’ve seen To All The Boys I’ve Met Before but didn’t get around to reading it until now. It’s really adorable and such a great contemporary.

2. Susan Ee

I never thought I would enjoy an apocalyptic book as much as I did with Angelfall. It was so dark and intense and I honestly have not read anything like it. Would definitely pick up some other apocalyptics now!

3. Aya Ling

The Ugly Stepsister caught me by its blurb. I love fairytale retellings and Aya Ling’s debut was just what I needed.

4. Maggie Steifvater

My friend convinced me to read The Raven Boys and while her writing took a while to take hold, it was amazing in the end.

5. Amy Alward

Her debut Madly had such a pretty cover and a story I could re-read so many times. It was so easy to get through as well, after a major reading slump.

That’s my short and simple list for this week! Please recommend me more authors to read in 2016, I am desperate for some new blood in my reading lists. So, what new authors did you read this year?

Author: Prima

Still crazy obsessed with High School Musical and is disappointed real life high school did not involve as much singing and dancing. Super cynical about Disney movies and kdramas but still loves them. Blogs about books and feels.

  1. Yaay, Jenny Han!! I’m so glad to hear you like her, I really love all of her books. I hope you’ll want to read more! 🙂
Maggie Steivfater, I keep hearing about her and still didn’t try to read one of her books. I’m scared to be disappointed, maybe because of all the hype surrounding her? I should try it out, though 🙂
    Great list!! 😀

    1. Give The Raven Boys a try. I read Lament first and hated it but The Raven Boys really redeemed Maggie Stiefvater! I definitely want to read more Jenny Han but all her other books don’t seem as cute as To All The Boys.
